The AANS House of Delegates (HOD) meets once per year at the AANS Annual Convention. The HOD is the governing body of AANS, and is where Resolutions are proposed and passed, Bylaws are amended, and Elections are held. For information on Resolutions and Elections, visit the AANS Convention page.

Who participates in the HOD? What is a delegate?
Anyone is welcome in the HOD. However, only delegates are allowed to vote on business of the House. Delegates are determined based on the number of AANS/NSNA members at a school, as follows:
- A school must have at least 10 AANS/NSNA members to have one delegate.
- For every 10 additional AANS/NSNA members, the school receives one additional delegate (i.e., 30 AANS/NSNA members = 3 delegates, 100 AANS/NSNA members = 10 delegates).
- Schools with less than 10 AANS/NSNA members will be allowed one non-voting delegate. This delegate will be able to participate in all HOD discussion but will not be allowed to vote on business.

What are the requirements of Delegates?
The following documents will assist all delegates and potential delegates with the operation of the HOD. AANS asks that all delegates download and review the following to be ready for the HOD.
- Delegate Information Sheet - This document defines a delegate and describes delegate requirements in the HOD.
- Parliamentary Procedure - This document describes all motions that can be used in the HOD, including when they can be brought forward and what vote is required to pass it..
- Motion cards - This document describes the cards (Red, Blue, Pro, Con) that will be used to make motions in the HOD.
- Making an Impression - This document describes the business attire required in the HOD.
